During the wire cutting of cemented carbide, the following two problems often occur,one is that the surface crack of carbide workpiece, the other is that the molybdenum wire is easy to break. Considering on the experience of the Oston Carbide, today we will share with you the solutions to the above two situations.
1. Surface Crack of carbide workpiece.
Due to the uneven stress of the "internal energy" of cemented carbide, especially large pieces of cemented carbide, It is easy to crack during wire cutting process, how can we avoid this situation?
(1) From the perspective of producing cemented carbide, when bulk cemented carbide is sintered, the heating and cooling speed should be slowed down as much as possible within the allowable technical range, and the high temperature should be extended as much as possible.
(2) From the perspective of the wire cutting process, it is necessary to let the hard composite products undergo natural aging in the open air or on the indoor ground for a period of time, 1 to 2 months is recommended, and avoid using materials that have just been sintered,cold treatment on cemented carbide is suggested if necessary.
(3) Before wire cutting, it is necessary to roughly grind the cemented carbide, and then leave it for a few days for cutting; it will be more secure if it can be rough ground before natural aging.
In short, the key point of how to cut cemented carbide is to release the internal energy stress evenly before processing cemented carbide to prevent it from forming destructive force.
2. Breakage of molybdenum wire
Regarding the problem that molybdenum wire is easy to break, we need to solve it by adjusting the wire cutting machine tool.
(1) Replace the new guide wheel and conductive block;
(2) Replace with new wire cutting fluid. More electric corrosion impurities are generated in the cooling fluid during wire cuttting ,which will easily reduce the chip removal effect of wire cutting fluid. You can replace new wire cutting fluid in advance and increase it appropriately and check out the proportioning concentration of wire cutting fluid. In addition, it is also possible to choose a wire-cutting working fluid with good chip removal performance such as water-based wire-cutting fluid;
(3) The parameters of the machine tool should be stable, the wire cutting molybdenum wire should not be too tight, and the wire frame should not be set too high! The speed can not be too fast, if it is hl system frequency conversion must be stable! In terms of current, keep 2.5A, be careful not to exceed 3A, and enlarge the pulse interval and pulse width.
Through the above introduction, we believe that you have a certain understanding of the problems and solutions on cemented carbide wire cutting,Oston Carbide is committed to providing high quality wear solutions.
