Tungsten carbide punching pins are products widely-used by customers with characteristics of super wear resistance, super impact resistance and long service life.

In addition to the very high requirements for precision, the cemented carbide punches used for high-precision molds also have product consistency. It is required that each punch in mass production must strictly follow the dimensional accuracy tolerance requirements, so that the service life of the mold is maximized. The consistency of the product directly affects the service life of the mold and the dimensional accuracy of the product.

The work of stamping dies is generally continuous operation, so the requirement for the service life of the punching pin becomes the focus. Tungsten carbide punching needles grades need be chosen according to the material and thickness of the stamping parts. Generally, the thicker the stamped product is, the lower the hardness and the better the toughness of the cemented carbide should be applied. Because the higher the hardness, the higher the wear resistance, but the higher the brittleness, it is easy to cause the loss of punching needles during processing. For punching relatively thin plates and materials with low hardness, we can choose cemented carbide with relatively high hardness, which can effectively improve the service life of the punch needle.

All Materials suitable for stamping die punching needles:

1. High-quality carbon structural steel. Compared with ordinary A3 low-carbon steel, this steel has higher strength and deformation resistance. The representative material used for stamping die punching needles is 45# steel.

2. High-carbon and high-chromium tool steels. The high-carbon and high-chromium tool steels commonly used on stamping die punches include Cr12, Cr12MoV, Cr12Mo1V1, and SKD11. They have good hardenability, hardenability and wear resistance, and heat treatment deformation Very small, it is a high wear-resistant micro-deformation die steel, and its bearing capacity is second only to high-speed steel. However, the segregation of carbides is serious, and repeated upsetting and drawing (axial upsetting and radial drawing) must be carried out to reduce the inhomogeneity of carbides and improve the performance.Tungsten carbide punching pins

3. High-speed steel. Compared with other mold steels, this kind of steel has higher hardness, wear resistance and compressive strength, and has a strong bearing capacity. The representative materials used for punching pins of stamping molds are SKH-51/SKH-9 steel. wait.

Four, cemented carbide, the hardness and wear resistance of cemented carbide are higher than any other kind of die steel, but the bending strength and toughness are poor. The cemented carbide used for the mold is tungsten-cobalt. For molds with low impact and high wear resistance requirements, the material of the punching needle can be cemented carbide with low cobalt content. For molds with high impact, the material of the punch needle can be made of cemented carbide with high cobalt content.
