Regrinding Problem Analysis and Improvement Suggestions

Description of quality problem

New rollers work normally,but after the first regrinding, cracks and breakage appear 1-2 days after the roller is put on the machine again.

 

Regrinding problem analysis:

1. Check whether the product material grade has been changed: No change.

2. Check the specific situation of customer usage: coolant during usage, indicating that the using temperature is very high.

3. Confirm that the regrinding process is correct.

 

Regrinding suggestions:

1. Ensure that the material is completely cooled before regrinding. It can be put away for a few days, and then tempered to eliminate the internal stress of the material.

2. Check the grinding wheel. The resin grinding wheel needs to be dressed if there’s wear out,electroplated wheels need be replaced if there’s wear out.

3. Correct the outer circle concentricity before regrinding: first grind and correct the outer circle R to ensure the concentricity of the OD and, then grind the beveling of both sides, and finally polish it.please ensure the tolerance of regrinding.

4. Coolant is required during the regrinding process.

 

Improvement suggestions:

1. Try a new grade for high temperature rolling.

2. After the alloy blank is taken out of the furnace, an additional round of stress relief process is performed.

3. If the problem can’t be solved after adjustment,we suggest to get one piece back for regrinding,we will take videos for every process and send you,appropriate regrinding process is good for both workpiece and the carbide tool.
