On May 12th,2023,Mr.Alizat from Turkey find us through inquiry about tungsten carbide wire descaling rolls,we offer him the accurate price within 12 hours and got feedback that price is reasonable but he’s worried about the breakage of tungsten carbide surface just like the tungsten carbide he purchased from other supplier.
Carbide wire descaling rolls are mainly installed outside the bearings for descaling and straightening wires,which are mainly used in wire manufacturers in the metal products industry, such as wires, cables,tubes and wire meshes.
Carbide rolls are with high hardness and good wear resistance. The hardness of cemented carbide roller can reach 86~93 HRA at room temperature, and it still has a high hardness even at 900~1000℃.service life of the cemented carbide rollers are significantly improved compared with high-speed steel.The compressive strength of cemented carbide rollers is higher than that of high-speed steel, but the bending strength is only 1/3 to 1/2 of that of high-speed steel.

1. Selection of tungsten carbide grade
When it comes to tungsten carbide grade selection,we can’t just focus on the hardness to get the best wear resistance,usually tungsten carbide material with higher hardness is also with lower bending strength,which means the risk of breakage is increasing too,so impact strength is a necessary factor too.
2. Design of tungsten carbide
For some special parts,some clients designed the tungsten carbide as very thin thickness in order to decrease the cost,when the impact is very strong,tungsten carbide parts may break as thin thickness can’t bear the pressure.
3. Selection of Material
Recycled tungsten carbide material works ok just for some wear parts without strong impact,original tungsten carbide material is the first choice when there’s high impact during application.
